Company Operation: Jerry Pate Company is the leading commercial golf & grounds equipment distributor in the southeast.   We are seeking a Field Service Technician to service our customers in East Georgia.  This position performs troubleshooting, diagnostics, evaluations, repairs and maintenance on commercial turf equipment, at customer locations.  This includes gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, drivelines and electrical systems, and cutting units (reel and rotary).  This position interfaces directly with the customer and contributes to customer satisfaction by fixing equipment right the first time and meeting repair promise dates.
Location:  The ideal candidate should be located in East Georgia.
Experience: Strong mechanical background with experience in golf course, commercial turf, and agricultural or heavy equipment service is preferred.
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate plus commissions

Assistant Equipment Technician

Hawks Ridge Golf Club
Ball Ground, GA

Course Operation: Hawks Ridge is a private golf club that opened in 1997 and is a Bob Cupp design. It has all Bentgrass on the greens, Zorro Zoysia on the tees, all fairways and rough is 419 Bermuda. Club also has a 9 hole par-3 course.
Duties: Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all golf course equipment. Responsible for assisting the Equipment Manager in operations of the golf course maintenance department.
Reports to: Equipment Manager, Golf Course Superintendent, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical, electrical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment on a regular basis.
2. Overhaul, replace and rebuild equipment including engines, brakes, transmissions, differentials, suspension, body, drive/PTO shafts, steering, pumps, reels, rollers, wheel/spindle assemblies.
3. Maintain shop in an orderly condition, keeping work areas clean and tools put away in appropriate locations.
4. Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Equipment Manager and/or Assistant Superintendent.
5. Works with the Equipment Manager to prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work.
6. Sets up and modifies equipment as needed.
7. Sharpen reels, bed knifes and blades with grinders to include relief grinding when necessary.
8. Keep up with preventative maintenance schedule, i.e. oil, grease, air, gas, etc.
9. Perform equipment recovery operations.
10. Understand basic electrical, hydraulic, 2&4 cycle engine systems to include troubleshooting.
11. Inspect Reel mowers after days cut, sharpen and adjust cutting height as needed.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary: $15-$17/hr DOE.
