Course Operation: 18-hole sei-private course designed by Golf Architect, Willard Byrd. Our greens underwent a complete renovation to Bentgrass in 2011. The course is located in a large, gated community that contains two restaurants, three lakes, tennis courts, basketball court, beach pavilion, recreation center and two swimming pools.
Duties: Assists Golf Course Superintendent in all aspects of the maintenance and improvement of the course. Assists with the supervision of staff, chemical application, equipment repair/maintenance, irrigation, organization, and budget preparation. Must have effective time management, communication, organizational, and mechanical skills. Position candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain a Georgia Pesticide Applicator's license. Applicant must have a valid driver's license and submit a criminal background check and drug screening.
Salary: Commensurate with Experience.

Requirements: 2-4 year Turfgrass Management Degree, Bachelor's preferred. Must have 2+ years' experience as an assistant golf course superintendent.

Assistant Superintendent

Georgia Southern University
Statesboro, GA

Course Operation: Extramurals Facilities. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths and supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment, at the Bennett Ramsey Golf Center.
Duties: Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairways. Hires, orients, and trains all golf course maintenance department employees. Schedules work and supervises employees and use of equipment. Instructs equipment operators on operation and care of mowing and other equipment. Supervises pesticide application and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and irrigation and drainage systems. Assists with personnel management and evaluation, employee safety, and discipline. Supervises the mowing, watering and maintenance of tees, greens, fairways and related areas.
Salary: $30,900 - $37,000.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree; ability to obtain commercial pesticide applicator’s license. Two or more years of related work experience. Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Effective problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution skills; a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf; experience managing warm season turfgrasses. Legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

Course/Company Operation: Sea Island Golf Club; with 54 holes of world-class Resort/Private golf; home to PGA Tour's RSM Classic and the SEC Championship; all-new state-of-the-art Golf Performance Center; new 18-hole Driftwood Putting Course; Seaside Golf Course; Plantation Course, scheduled to reopen this October is newly designed and renovated by Davis Love III and Mark Love.
Duties: Will work directly with the superintendent in supervising golf maintenance crew, scheduling, training, planning, prioritizing and executing IPM. Involved in all facets of golf maintenance.
